Mingus and Me

Was reading David's post and caught that 70's FM prog-rock DJ photo that he posted of himself back in the day. When folks often meet me the first thing they usually say is: "Gee, when did you start shaving your head?" I guess that's more polite than saying something like, "Gee, I didn't know you were bald." Well, it was a long time ago. And one day, I did have lots of hair. In fact, this shot is of me back in my pre-radio days - caught in the act of cleaning out the grease traps of the fryolators at a summer camp I used to work at.

Oh right, music. So I've got at least 12 hours before I hand over my Top 10 albums list to Matt so he can rock a few selections on the air during the Leicht Lunch. By the way, we have started calling Matt - "Matt The Hoople". My list so far I know is going to have Radiohead, The Clash, Sly & The Family Stone, Neil Young, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan on it. This is tough. I would love to put Jackson Browne and Charles Mingus on it. It may not be the "greatest" album, but I wore the grooves off my copy of Mingus Ah Um and I gotta include Aja by Steely Dan, right? This is tough. Seperating favorite from greatest is difficult.
