Louisiana 1927

Watching the concert for Katrina relief last night on NBC, which I thought was quite good, I was struck by the power of Aaron Neville singing the Randy Newman song Louisiana 1927. Talk about the history repeating itself...President Coolidge visited on the train, President Bush came by helicopter, but other than that, the circumstances seemed much the same then and now. The refrain "They're trying to wash us away" was so haunting... If you didn't see it, or don't know the song, I'll play it this week on the air.
