My Morning Download 3/24/08 - The Punch Brothers

The Punch Brothers are a group of acoustic bluegrass superpickers combining bluegrass instrumentation with modern classical composition. The band is the first post-Nickel Creek project formed by mandolin player Chris Thile and includes Gabe Witcher on fiddle, Noam Pikelny on banjo, guitarist Christ Eldridge and bassist Greg Garrison.

Their debut album called Punch is out on Nonesuch Records and contains the 40-minute four-movement suite "The Blind Leaving the Blind," that serves as an anchor for the record.
