Indie-pop singer-songwriter
Marykate O'Neil grew up in Hudson, went to college in Boston, and then moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1999. This week she released a new EP called
mkUltra. Lyrically O'Neil is a mix of sugar and spice and sometimes everything not so nice. We like her fire. She gets some help on the EP from her pal Jill Sobule whose song "Happy" she covers on her new EP. When she sings "all I wanna be, all I wanna be, all I wanna be is happy," I'm not so sure I really believe her. Gosh, this song is good!
